How to check if your car has wired Apple CarPlay or wired Android Auto:
Plug your phone in — if CarPlay/Android Auto pops up, it’s supported.
Yes. Baby View works with both iPhone and Android smartphones when connected to a vehicle that supports wired Apple CarPlay or wired Android Auto.
For Apple CarPlay users, the camera can be viewed alongside other CarPlay features such as navigation, calls and music on compatible vehicles that support split-screen or picture-in-picture viewing.
(iPhone users running iOS 10 or later can use the product)
For Android Auto users, the Baby View camera feed will display in full-screen only. Navigation, calls, music and other Android Auto features cannot be used at the same time as the camera display.
Apple CarPlay features are not available on Android devices.
Baby View requires wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto support to function.
Wireless only systems are not supported.
Some cars with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto can also still support wired CarPlay/Android Auto — check your vehicle to confirm if it uses both wireless and wired systems together.
Some vehicles that have both wireless and wired systems, the infotainment may limit accessory connections due to the way the infotainment system manages Bluetooth and WiFi sessions. In these cases, using wired CarPlay provides the most stable experience.
In certain vehicles, the system may default to a wireless connection first. If this occurs, we recommend restarting your infotainment system and ensuring your phone is connected via a wired connection first.
If you experience difficulty switching to a wired connection, you may need to contact your vehicle manufacturer or dealership for assistance with enabling wired connectivity.
Bubbasafe can assist with general troubleshooting however, we are not responsible for limitations or configurations specific to your vehicle's infotainment system.
Wired systems require your phone to be plugged into the car via a data USB cable to activate CarPlay or Android Auto.
Wireless systems allows your phone to connect automatically using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, without needing a cable.
Bubbasafe Baby View works with vehicles that have wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto as factory installed standard.
If your car only supports wireless CarPlay/Android Auto from the factory, Baby View may not be compatible. Some cars with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto can also still support wired CarPlay/Android Auto — check your vehicle to confirm if it uses both wireless and wired systems together.

Bubbasafe Baby View integrates with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the way the camera appears on the screen differs between the two systems due to how each platform allows third-party integration.
Apple CarPlay
On compatible vehicles, Bubbasafe Baby View can operate within the CarPlay interface and support split-screen or picture-in-picture mode (vehicle dependent). This allows the baby camera to display alongside other CarPlay apps such as maps or music.
Android Auto
Android Auto uses a different display structure. While Baby View connects and displays correctly through Android Auto, the camera will appear in a dedicated full-screen view only.
Split-screen and picture-in-picture viewing is not supported on Android Auto, so other Android Auto features such as navigation, calls or music cannot be used at the same time as the camera display.
This behaviour is due to Android Auto system limitations and is not a fault or malfunction of the Baby View device.

-------
Apple CarPlay functionality can vary depending on the vehicles infotainment system and manufacturer software.

These differences are determined by the vehicle's CarPlay system and are not a limitation of the Baby View device.
This product is a wired-to-wireless adapter and must be plugged into a USB DATA port (not a charge-only port).
This data port is located usually in the following areas:
• Centre console (inside the armrest or just in front of it)
• Dashboard/Infotainment area (near the screen, climate controls or gear shifter)
(Some cars like Audi, Mercedes, VW have the main data usb in the glove box.
For iPhone users:
Your phone will connect to a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto software which is provided by our Babyview USB receiver, so you will no longer need to use a wire to connect to your phone.
When the camera transmitter is powered on, it will automatically connect to the USB receiver (without the use of WiFi) and this will merge the live camera feed onto the wireless CarPlay screen on your dashboard monitor.
Overall, the USB transmitter does three things in the one USB data port;
1. It gives your car a wireless CarPlay software, instead of wired.
2. It connects the camera transmitter without WiFi.
3. It connects to your phone wirelessly to CarPlay via bluetooth so you can take phone calls, use maps, play music etc.
For Android users:
When the camera transmitter is powered on, it will automatically connect to the USB receiver (without the use of WiFi) and this will merge the live camera feed onto the screen on your dashboard monitor.
To access Android Auto interface functions, there is a button on main menu which you can press to exit to go back to your original Android Auto screen.
